There are now under three months until the introduction of the Central London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), which will help to tackle London’s toxic air. The level of air pollution is contributing to thousands of people dying prematurely every year.
The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will replace the T-Charge from 8 April 2019.
This daily charge runs from 00:01 midnight, 7 days a week, 365 days.
The charges will be as follows:
- £12.50 for most vehicle types, including cars, motorcycles and vans (up to and including 3.5 tonnes)
- £100 for heavier vehicles, including lorries (over 3.5 tonnes) and buses/coaches (over 5 tonnes)
This will be in addition to the weekday Congestion Charge and the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) charge and will replace the T-Charge.
From 25 October 2021 the area will expand to the inner London area bounded by the North and South Circular roads.
