If you’re a professional driver of a lorry, bus or coach, or a fleet manager who is looking for Driver CPC training from trusted experts, our online Driver CPC courses could be just for you.

JCS Transport holds all its Driver CPC training modules online with remote training sessions hosted on Zoom.

All new commercial HGV drivers obtain their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence or CPC by passing a series of initial qualification tests with both theory and practical sections.

Thereafter, under a European directive, drivers are required to do 35 hours of periodic training every five years in order to keep their certificate.

If you’re a driver who needs to update your Driver CPC training, choosing JCS Transport as your CPC trainer means you’ll benefit from our years’ of expertise all from the comfort of your own home in a completely Covid-safe way!

Driver CPC and Brexit – no change

Many people assumed Driver CPCs would be scrapped after Britain left the European Union but this is not the case, for the foreseeable future at least.

You can still be fined up to £1,000 for driving professionally if your Driver CPC has expired.

With selected dates available, our remote sessions cover all aspects of the Driver CPC courses. Furthermore, we hold training days for groups within companies as long social distancing guidelines are followed.

What is covered in the online Driver CPC training?

Our online CPC courses are fully JAUPT approved.

If you’re not sure what course to take, no problem. We can help advise and identify one that’s right for all your driver CPC training needs.

Moving our training online means the modules can be completed in a flexible way that suits your busy schedule via mobile phone, tablet or laptop.

The Safe Urban Driving and Lo-City Driving programmes also complement your FORS Silver and FORS Gold accreditation awards. So, if a company has FORS Silver or FORS Gold accreditation, their drivers’ hours can be counted as part of their Driver CPC training. It’s a win-win!

Driver CPC – raising standards across haulage

Driver CPC qualifications were introduced to improve road safety and raise standards in the haulage industry.

They are suitable for all HGV drivers. This includes professional lorry, coach and bus drivers who operate in the UK and Europe.

Each new five-year period will begin from the expiry date of the driver’s current Driver CPC qualification, and not from the date on which they reached the 35 hours minimum training requirement.

After each driver has completed their CPC training, their completed training hours must be uploaded to the DVSA website.

As well as offering authoritative Driver CPC training, we are also fully-qualified FORS practitioners and FORS Gold Accreditation holders.
