It’s been a difficult period for businesses in the UK over recent years, having to deal with the Covid 19 pandemic followed by record levels of inflation and the cost of living crisis all leading to a squeeze on consumer spending. Whilst the global corporations will emerge relatively unscathed, the sad reality is during this time many of the independent businesses in our communities have closed their doors for the last time. That is why it is so heartening when you hear about an independent business that is bucking that trend and thriving despite the challenging climate. In recognition of their achievements and the outstanding service they provide we are delighted to announce that JCS Transport Consultancy are the latest recipients of our prestigious Gold Endorsement Award. They are widely recognised as one of the absolute leaders in their field having already won several awards for their work including being named Best Transport Compliance Consultancy for two consecutive years in the SME Awards. Last year they were also winners of one of our Awards of Excellence so they join one of a select group of organisations to have won both our awards in consecutive years.

In this edition we will try and give you an insight into the work that they do and the success that they’ve enjoyed.
There are many factors but first and foremost they are good at what they do with the entire team sharing the same steadfast determination to maintain the same high standards that have become such a trademark. Sustained excellence is difficult to achieve in any industry but it’s something that the team of award winning professionals at JCS Transport Consultancy have managed to achieve with quite remarkable consistency over recent years. Running a fleet of vehicles has never been so regulated and complex. What JCS Transport does is to guide their clients through their responsibilities and ensure they are compliant with all aspects of the Operator Licensing regime. Their comprehensive range of services includes operator license compliance audits, tachograph management, Driver CPC Training as well as FORS guidance and support at all levels.
They were founded by their Managing Director, Jamie Campbell who is an experienced professional with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. Jamie is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT) and is a current and active compliance auditor. He is quite rightly regarded as an absolute master of his craft and has helped JCS Consultancy become one of the UK’s leading FORS Practitioners. Expanding further on what they do Jamie says, “Through providing expert consultancy and specifically aligned compliance audits, we’ve helped all types of fleet operators achieve FORS at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Our knowledge and expertise speak for itself. We’ve helped many clients to achieve their accreditation with flying colours, including Kone Lifts, Octopus Energy, Cordwallis Group, TDW Distribution, Wilson and Scott Highways and Access Solutions Scaffolding” just to name a few.

Their team collectively has more than 60 years of experience and has hundreds of compliance audits under their belts. They provide numerous courses covering the complete Driver CPC syllabus for businesses across the UK. If someone’s Driver card has expired, they can take online courses to remain certified.The CPC course modules include Prevention of Bridge Strikes, Health & Wellbeing, Safer Vehicles and Safer People, Safe Urban Driving (SUD) and Lo-City Driving. The Driver CPC qualifications aim to improve road safety and is suitable for all HGV and LGV Drivers.
As a rule, anyone who operates a vehicle or vehicle and trailer combination that weighs 3.5 tonnes or more for commercial purposes will need an operator’s license. The operator license process can sometimes be complex but the JCS team has the experience and knowledge to make the process as efficient and straightforward as possible. They provide support for all operator license requirements either through a continuous transport management service (for those using a restricted operators’ license) or one off assistance with the application form submission. Their meticulous approach to their work ensures everything is done correctly each and every time.
